Early Help Offer
Supporting Our Families: Wirral’s Early Help Offer
At Woodlands, we understand that family life can sometimes be a bit of a rollercoaster. Whether it’s managing challenging behaviour, navigating financial stress, or supporting a child’s emotional wellbeing, every family needs a little extra help from time to time.
That’s where the Early Help offer comes in.
What is Early Help?
Early Help is not a single service, but a way of working that brings together various professionals to support families before a small problem becomes a larger one. The goal is to provide the right support at the right time, ensuring that children and young people are safe, happy, and ready to learn.
Our Partnership with You
We believe that you are the experts on your own children. We pride ourselves on working closely with parents and carers, building relationships based on trust, honesty, and mutual respect.
When a family requests Early Help, we don’t "fix" things from the outside; we work alongside you. Together, we can create a support network that might include:
Emotional & Mental Health support for children and young people.
Parenting advice and specialist workshops.
Practical help with housing, finances, or transitions.
Youth support and community activities.
Self development support to gain extra qualifications and skills

You can also speak to Mandy Skillen in total confidence. We are here to listen, not to judge, and to ensure your family gets the best possible start.
We work in partnership with Tina Black (EHA - Early Help Advisor) who can signpost you to specialist support and advice after a face to face meeting in school (arranged through Mandy Skillen).
