Woody’s Wildlings: Way Beyond Wonder

At the heart of every great childhood is the freedom to explore. At Woodlands, we believe that play is the most vital work a child can do. It isn’t just a break from the classroom—it is the classroom. Through play, our children develop the resilience, social skills, and problem-solving abilities that form the foundation for their future.

A major investment in our children

To champion this philosophy, we are delighted to announce a significant investment of thousands of pounds into our outdoor spaces. However, this isn't merely about installing new equipment; it’s about creating a bespoke environment where Woody’s Wildlings can truly flourish.

Our playground transformation has been designed to:

  • Promote Collaborative Play: Creating ‘social hubs’ where children learn to negotiate, share ideas, and work together to tackle challenges.

  • Encourage Active Lifestyles: Inspiring every child to get stuck in – no matter which activity they choose – to build physical confidence and healthy habits.

  • Spark Curiosity: Utilising open-ended resources that can be a castle one day and a laboratory the next.

  • Nurture Creative Thinking: Moving away from prescribed play to let children lead their own adventures, find peace in the Nature Nook, and weave their own stories.

Why it matters

Play is the ultimate team effort. Whether our Wildlings are working together in the mud kitchen or sharing a quiet moment in the Nature Nook, they are honing the teamwork and communication skills they need for life. By investing in our outdoor spaces, we are investing in our children’s wellbeing, health, and academic growth.

"Play is the highest form of research." — Albert Einstein

We are incredibly excited to see our Wildlings explore their new surroundings and begin creating.
